What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift position at PRETIUM?
Role and Responsibilities
· Attend daily maintenance meeting to determine work schedule.
· Complete all work orders as assigned.
· Perform repairs and maintenance on machines and equipment inclusive of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and propane gas systems.
· Troubleshoot and solve problems with equipment to minimize production downtime.
· Perform building maintenance duties including plumbing, carpentry and masonry tasks.
· Perform other building and grounds maintenance tasks (i.e. recycling, cleaning, insect/rodent control etc.)
· Maintain HVAC system.
· Maintain vacuum system.
· Maintain water treatment systems, water pumps and air compressors.
· Document equipment repairs, cleaning, preventative maintenance, calibrations, etc. including all paperwork that is required.
· May perform mold changes if needed (remove, replace with new mold, hook up, check head, tooling and set downstream).
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

High school education or equivalent plus additional specialized training in hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical and HVAC.

Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in order to gain sufficient skills to perform the requirements of the position.

Must be able to read, write and speak English at a basic level.

Basic understanding of specifications, blueprints, manuals and mechanical drawings.

Forklift Certified
Physical Demands

Standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, carrying, reaching, grasping, talking and hearing.

Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with peripheral vision and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and scape relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.

Medium work – exert up to 15 pounds of force frequently and up to 60 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Work Conditions
Physical conditions include close proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to high temperatures, hot water, oil, grease, solvent tank, lubricants, pipe dope, contact cleaner, chemicals for water treatment, air pressure, noise and dust. Protective clothing that may be required includes: safety glasses, earplugs, hairnets, helmets and facemask.
