Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technician -
Full-time / 40 hours per week / Tuesday-Saturday/Day Shift

Summary
Performs a variety of routine and complex laboratory procedures under supervision using standard and specialized techniques, instrumentation, and equipment. Exercise professional judgment to recognize, prioritize, and facilitate varying test requests and workload in efficient manner.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree listing one of the required areas of study (Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science) or Associates degree in medical technology or laboratory science. AMT, ASCP or equivalent
- Preferred certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) or certification eligible
Experience & Training
- Preferred Three (3) years clinical laboratory experience, minimum One (1) year clinical laboratory experience.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow detailed laboratory procedures, protocols, and instructions.
- Minimum of 12 continuing education credits are required to be completed each calendar year for continued employment.
- Ability to do high volume testing and work with minimal supervision.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate and troubleshoot sophisticated equipment, identify, and correct technical problems.
- Ability to work under stress, communicate test results to physicians, and other authorized personnel.
- Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with good customer service.
- Use of computers or ability to acquire such skills to operate application packages used by department
- Ability to effectively interact with coworkers and customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
- Demonstrates successful completion of all regulatory required testing related competencies.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
