SUMMARY: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is a key member of our team. You'll work side-by-side with the team to ensure the production process is flowing smoothly to meet our goals and ensure food safety and product quality standards are met. We're looking for someone who can demonstrate leadership while functioning as a hands-on, team player.
PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
o Coach, motivate, mentor, and develop staff through training of HACCP, GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures.
o Create KPI goals for production team and ensure they are consistently met
o Enforce plant and company safety programs, promoting and maintaining a high level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements such as lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, etc.
o Support, demonstrate and promote Pretzilla core values: Teamwork, Integrity, Courage & Curiosity
o Assure proper staffing levels with regards to skills and headcount.
Process Improvement
o Build and assess Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
o Continually review current strategies, systems, performance, capabilities, equipment, facilities, and employees for opportunities to optimize safety, flow, service, quality, and profitability.
Troubleshooting
o Monitor the equipment performance in production process (i.e., freezer, packaging machinery, etc) to ensure that equipment is functioning efficiently and is properly cleaned and sanitized. Arrange for timely repair/resolution of equipment failures.
o Provide technical recommendations for continuous improvement.
Time Management
o Monitor production rates, flow, and integrate changes as needed.
o Accurate management of all temporary and full-time associate scheduling and timekeeping
o Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as timecards, quality records, etc.
Organizational Skills
o Guarantee all production lines are appropriately staged for current and future runs.
o Ensure all necessary production efforts are communicated to appropriate departments.
Other
o Complete training related to food and personal safety as required.
o Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to stand and/or walk up to 100% of the time, work in a freezer, and lift up to 50 lbs.
· Strong project management and organizational skills in which attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects on time is essential.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgement.
· Exceptional interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
· Flexible and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to the needs of a 24-hour manufacturing environment.
· Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment with three (3) to five (5) years of experience with direct employee supervision
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook
- Ability to use and comprehend complex mathematics to solve problems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· This job operates in both a professional office environment as well as a manufacturing plant with varying temperatures. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
· While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing in environments with varied temperatures. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
