Afloat Training Group Pacific (ATGPAC) is dedicated to the training and certification of all ships within the Pacific Fleet. As training standards and requirements evolve, ATGPAC must adapt with increased manpower and flexibility to meet the demands of effective naval and joint operations across the full spectrum of combat. The mission of ATGPAC is to deliver dynamic, high-quality afloat training to U.S. Navy and Coast Guard Sailors, ensuring a combat-ready force capable of executing a wide range of maritime missions. Emphasis is placed on training ships’ training teams, special evolution teams, and watch teams to enhance onboard capabilities and maintain combat readiness throughout deployment cycles.
Distributed Training Initiatives
ATGPAC conducts distributed training through computer-based simulations and Live, Virtual Constructive (LVC) events, all taking place in the ATGSD Battle Lab. This training includes live or synthetic services designed to certify non-organic ships. Key distributed training events encompass:
- Final Battle Problem at-sea (FBP)
- Fleet Synthetic Training-Unit (FST-U)
- Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD)
- Anti-Air/Surface/Electronic Warfare (AW/SW/EW) Training and Certification
- Monthly Inport Training Exercise (MITE)
- ATG Ship’s Entity Test/ATG Ships Tactical Training (ASET/ASTT)
- Strike Warfare (STW) Certification
The ATGPAC Battle Lab provides exercise scenarios and facilitates training over various systems, including the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE), Tactical Data Links (TDL), Mission Distribution System (MDS), Battle Force Team Trainer (BFTT), and Global Command and Control System – Maritime (GCCS-M).
Collaboration with Tactical Training Group Pacific (TTGP)
To achieve training objectives, ATGPAC collaborates with the Tactical Training Group Pacific (TTGP), which distributes virtual training to ships and other facilities under the Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) Program. TTGP serves as the Executive Agent for the Commander, Pacific Fleet (CPF) Distributed Training Architecture (DTA), incorporating the Navy’s Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) and other command and control (C2) systems. TTGP functions as the primary persistent NCTE node for the Pacific Fleet and a critical node for the Joint National Training Capability Training and Enterprise Network (JTEN).
Requirements
Required Operational Experience:
- Experience operating a C5I system within a Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) or equivalent complex architecture, including management of combat systems configuration, operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Background in naval warfare operations or training, with equivalent joint experience.
- Scenario development experience.
- Training and operational experience with Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF), Multi-System Automated Remote Control Interface (MARCI), and one or more of the following systems: Modeling and Simulation, Battle Force Team Trainer (BFTT), Tactical Data Information Link generation systems supporting Line-of-Sight Link 11(A) /16(J), Satellite-J, Link 16, Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M), and Tactical Voice/Data Communications.
Ideal Applicant Should Have Knowledge Of:
- The Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM).
- Composite Warfare Commander construct.
- Command and Control functions related to surveillance, engagement, and planning for various numbered fleets.
- Staff and fleet operations and planning procedures.
- Fleet Synthetic Training architecture.
- Combat Systems Operational Sequencing System (CSOSS).
Education:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree preferred.
Security Clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Salary : $85,000 - $130,000
