Prevailance is seeking an experienced and mission-focused professional to support Commander, Naval Surface Forces Pacific (CNSP) and Afloat Training Group Pacific (ATGPAC) as a BMD Tactical Operations Subject Matter Expert. This position is critical for ensuring the effective training and certification of ships within the Pacific Fleet, with a strong focus on Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) capabilities.
The BMD Tactical Operations SME is essential for ensuring the Pacific Fleet is trained and ready for operations, with a specific focus on enhancing BMD capabilities and readiness. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive experience with Navy training processes, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Training and Certification:
- Oversee the training and certification processes for surface ships in the Pacific Fleet, ensuring compliance with evolving training standards.
- Develop, analyze, and implement training standards for BMD and combat systems.
- Operational Oversight:
- Manage the configuration, operation, maintenance, and repair of combat systems onboard naval vessels.
- Conduct shipboard BMD watch-team training and oversee BMD exercises and operations.
- Program Management:
- Support the development of training materials, conduct data analysis, and provide quality assurance for training programs.
- Generate and manage BMD training requirements, ensuring readiness for immediate deployment.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with various commands to ensure effective implementation of BMD training and certification processes.
- Provide recommendations for improving training standards based on data analysis and program assessments.
Requirements
Experience:
- Shipboard Experience:
- 5 years of surface Navy experience as an officer or chief petty officer, specifically supervising combat systems.
- Qualified as a Tactical Action Officer (TAO) or BMD Watch Officer on an AEGIS BMD ship.
- BMD Training and Operations:
- 5 years of experience conducting shipboard BMD watch-team training, including recent experience with BMD exercises or operations.
- Completion of a BMD deployment certification or similar training.
- Radar Systems Controller Experience (if applicable):
- 2 years of experience as a Qualified Radar Systems Controller (RSC) on an Aegis BMD or equivalent platform.
- Experience as an instructor/trainer or operational experience on a BMD-configured Aegis ship.
Knowledge Areas:
- BMD Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of BMD tactics, technical systems, and instructions, including COMNAVSURFORINST 8820.2 series requirements.
- Knowledge of AEGIS Combat Systems, including components and operational instructions.
- Familiarity with BMD command and control issues, including surveillance, engagement, and planning functions for various numbered fleets.
- Training Standards:
- Understanding of Surface BMD Basic Phase training certification events and requirements.
Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Salary : $80,000 - $135,000
