Description
Prevailance is seeking an experienced, mission-focused professional to support the Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command (SWESC) as a Diesel Engineman Contractor Instructor (EN CI). The EN CI will provide instruction, operation, testing, remediation, curriculum support (including updates and maintenance), administration, safety, and management support services for formalized naval training.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Deliver technical and military training to Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, including Navy and Allied Forces officers and enlisted personnel temporarily assigned to SWESC Great Lakes, IL.
- Provide instructional services, testing, and remediation to support student learning and professional development.
- Ensure training delivery aligns with Navy training requirements and safety protocols.
- Utilize training aids, electronic podiums, lab equipment, and technical training equipment (TTE) to enhance instruction.
- Support curriculum updates, maintenance, and improvements to ensure material remains current and relevant.
Requirements
The EN CI shall have the following qualifications
:
- Former Senior (E5–E9) Engineman (EN) or Machinist Mate Diesel (MM) with a background in main propulsion
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel propulsion systems
- Graduate of at least one (1) of the following courses:
- LST 41/49 Colt-Pielstick Maintainer (A-652-0323)
- Diesel Engine C School Module 5 (LPD C/P) (A-651-9001)
- USCG ALCO 251C (A-651-3030)
- USCG FBM (A-651-3031)
- Fairbanks Morse Diesel 38ND 8-1/8 (A-652-0450)
Instructor Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience in the subject matter being instructed
- Minimum of two (2) years in a Military Training Environment (these can overlap)
- Certified as an instructor in the applicable functional area (e.g., NETC requirements)
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of learning principles, instructional methods, testing and remediation procedures, and curriculum development
- Proficiency with training aids, electronic podiums, technical training equipment (TTE), and lab equipment
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain a favorable background clearance
