Prevailance is seeking an experienced and mission-focused Senior Surface Warfare Analyst to support the Commander Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC). This role is critical to SMWDC’s mission to enhance the lethality and tactical proficiency of the Surface Force across all domains. The Senior Analyst will support SMWDC’s four primary lines of operation—Advanced Tactical Training, Doctrine and Tactical Guidance Development, Operational Support, and Capability Assessment/Experimentation/Requirements. Travel may be required for this position.
SMWDC’s mission is realized through four primary lines of operation:
- Advanced Tactical Training
- Doctrine and Tactical Guidance Development
- Operational Support
- Capability Assessment, Experimentation, and Requirements
The Senior Surface Warfare Analyst will contribute expertise through individual and group instruction, training assessment, Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) program support, and the development or updating of operational/tactical doctrine.
Support services for SMWDC are required across multiple sites, including:
- SMWDC Headquarters (HQ) in San Diego, CA
- Mine Warfare (MIW) Division, San Diego, CA
- Sea Combat (SC) Division, San Diego, CA
- Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) Division, Dahlgren, VA
- Amphibious Warfare (AMW) Division, Little Creek, VA
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Provide technical expertise for fleet readiness evaluation, warfighting capability assessment, and tactical publication reviews
- Support the development, submission, and management of POM (Program Objective Memorandum) investments and processes, contributing to the Surface Warfare Training Strategy
- Contribute to SMWDC’s Advanced Tactical Training, supporting WTI instruction, operational doctrine updates, and assessments of tactics and procedures
- Assist in the execution of SMWDC’s Capability Assessment and Experimentation efforts in areas such as:
- Surface Warfare
- Anti-submarine Warfare
- Amphibious Warfare
- Mine Warfare
- Integrated Air & Missile Defense
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of recent experience as a Qualified Surface Warfare Officer (SWO)
- Security Clearance: Current SECRET clearance required at the time of proposal submission
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required Master’s Degree preferred
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Warfare Tactics Officer (WTI) qualification in the Amphibious Warfare (AMW) or Anti-Submarine Warfare/Surface Warfare (ASW/SUW) domains
- Experience with POM development and submission processes for Surface Warfare Training Strategy
- Knowledge of or experience with the Navy’s FLEX program

Salary : $80,000 - $135,000
