Central Region Prevention Specialist for Prevent Child Abuse Illinois
Prevent Child Abuse Illinois (PCA Illinois) is a statewide, free standing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the chartered state chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America. Established in 1990, PCA Illinois provides key leadership for child abuse and neglect prevention through public awareness, training and education, community outreach, advocacy, and the promotion of positive parenting programs. We believe every child deserves a great childhood and every adult has a role to play in keeping children safe.
PCA Illinois Prevention Specialists are responsible for providing services to the communities within their assigned region and for supporting all public awareness and educational activities of the agency. Prevention Specialists provide training on Childhood Trauma, Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, Infant Safety and much more. They plan conferences, facilitate networking meetings, and work closely with social service agencies, domestic violence organizations, substance use treatment providers, educators, and many other key partners in the child welfare system. They provide leadership and resources for April Child Abuse Prevention Month both statewide and within their region. Prevention Specialists participate in and assist local community collaborations in efforts to strengthen services for children and families. They are part of a strong team that helps to develop new resources, materials, and programs for PCA Illinois.

Minimum Qualifications
Successful candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field and at least three years of experience in child welfare or social services. Strong candidates will have excellent computer, communication, organizational, and facilitation skills as well as some experience as a presenter/trainer. Salary Range $48,000 -$52,000 based on experience and qualifications.
