Job Summary:
The Business Manager is a critical full-time position at Prevent Child Abuse Iowa, tasked with overseeing billing processes, monitoring invoices, tracking payments, resolution of any billing discrepancies or issues that may arise, grant financial oversight, and assisting in onboarding of new staff. This position requires strong problem solving and analytical skills, attention to details, knowledge of relevant laws, and regulations governing non-profits, and safeguards the organization’s integrity and reputation by implementing and maintaining robust confidentiality protocols. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Manager will work collaboratively with staff and board members to achieve our objectives.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
· Developing and implementing financial strategies and plans to support the organization’s goals.
· Managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
· Overseeing financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and expenses.
· Monitoring cash flow and managing working capital effectively.
· Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
General Ledger Management:
· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
· Recording financial transactions and journal entries.
· Reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements.
· Analyzing and interpreting financial data from the general ledger.
· Implementing internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
· Collaborating with other staff to ensure accurate recording of transactions.
Human Resources Management:
· Advertising, recruiting, and onboarding new employees with the Executive Director.
· Overseeing payroll processing and benefits administration.
· Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Board and Stakeholder Relations:
· Maintain confidentiality in communication and documentation to board meetings and discussions.
· Safeguard sensitive stakeholder/donor information.
· Assist in preparation of board meetings, including agenda creation, assistance with documents needed by Executive Director and Board President.
Requirements and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
· Proven experience as a Business Manager or similar role.
· Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse populations.
· Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.
· Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel, SharePoint, and Macintosh OS)
· Excellent proficiency in QuickBooks Pro software.
· Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be ethical, self-starter, responsible, and work independently.
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
Compensation and Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt position with a generous benefits package. The current annual salary range for this position is $58,000 - $65,000 based on experience and qualifications. Most work will be during business hours, but the schedule varies depending on board and stakeholder meetings and will require working occasionally evenings and weekends, as needed.
