TITLE: Community Engagement Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Prevention
STATUS: Full-time, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Prevention Initiatives
LOCATION: Bismarck based with some travel required
SALARY RANGE: $50,000-$55,000
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Community Engagement Coordinator will be assisting the Director of Prevention Initiatives in the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of Families Flourish ND prevention initiatives, while ensuring that our practices and policies are sensitive to and inclusive of the diverse cultural backgrounds of the communities we serve. They will provide administrative support to the Executive Director and assist with Community Awareness and supporting prevention across the state.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizational Duties:
- Handle all mail and scanning to staff
- Assist with planning special events
Program Supports
- Assist with prevention programs to collect data and do inventory management
- Create a communications calendar that incorporates stories from MIECHV family participants and other relevant information to share with families and promote Early Childhood Initiatives and Home visiting programs.
- Assist the Director of Prevention Initiatives on the DHHS and organizational work plans to support implementation on all prevention project/initiative.
- Assist in the coordination of all work plan initiatives, including any goals, objectives, tactics and evaluation methods needed for reporting and in accordance with the ND DHHS contract. Projects/initiatives including:
- Child Abuse Prevention Month
- CAP Month Grantees
- Period of Purple Crying Campaign
- Handle with Care
- Alliance for Children’s Justice Task Force
- As appropriate within the work plan, coordinate the delivery of services among different program/initiative activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
Community Engagement
- Represent FFND and disseminate information on initiatives at conferences and community outreach events.
- As appropriate within the work plan, help to cultivate and maintain partnerships with school, districts, law enforcement, nonprofits, medical providers and community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- As appropriate within the work plan, coordinate and assist in the facilitation of meetings with community partners across programming projects as the budget allows (ACJ, HWC, PPC).
- As appropriate and with approval for each program/initiative, engage volunteers, stakeholders and partnering organizations to gain community support and input.
- Assist with social media and online community engagement as needed.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with other staff to align training activities with broader organizational and program goals.
- Participate in PCAND projects/initiatives that require all staff, as identified by the Executive Director.
- Other duties, as assigned.
SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS OF TOP CANDIDATES
- Experience in work such as social work, education, etc.
- Knowledge of program coordination.
- Knowledge of client groups and/or issues related to the program area preferred.
- Experience using Canva, MailChimp and Square
- Solution-oriented and flexible team member. Must be passionate, willing to voice concerns, but always with a recommended fix to share.
- Proficient in the use of computers for word processing, spreadsheets, email.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

OTHER WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel within the state and, on occasion, be on the road for two or three days at a time.

- Assist with occasionally lifting, sorting and transporting materials such as boxes and products.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
