What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Support Coordinator position at Prevention Links Inc?
Description of duties and responsibilities: The family support specialist is an individual with lived experience of addiction and recovery who provides specialized support and case management to families impacted by addiction.
- Assist residents of Union, Middlesex, and Monmouth Counties whose loved one is impacted by a substance use disorder using the community reinforcement approach and family training (CRAFT) model (training provided) in both group and one-on-one settings
- Collaboratively develop an individual wellness plan with participants
- Attend relevant meetings and workgroups as assigned
- Promote the Family Support Center program throughout Union, Middlesex and Monmouth Counties
- Other tasks as requested by CEO/Division Director or Supervisor
Qualifications for position:
- Lived experience of addiction recovery, with a minimum of three years continuous abstinence if in personal recovery
- Degree in a recognized mental health discipline/human services preferred
Supervisory relationships: Reports directly to Peer Support Manager
Skills, knowledge, personal qualities required: Must possess the skills, knowledge, and personal qualities required to fulfill the responsibilities listed above. Strong writing and computer skills required. Bi-lingual preferred.
Amount of travel and any other special conditions or requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and method of transportation. Position requires occasional travel within and outside of Union, Middlesex, and Monmouth Counties. All travel mileage will be reimbursed.
