What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery High School Mentor (Peer Recovery Specialist) position at Prevention Links Inc?
- Orients new students to the school’s programs and policies
- Collaboratively develop an individual recovery plan with students
- Complete documentation and paperwork as necessary
- Participates in weekly team meetings, contributing feedback regarding the student’s behavior, progress, and recovery stability
- Assists with student intake and follow up assessments
- Ensures that students are connected to any necessary outside supports
- Immediately reports any concerns to supervisor
- Facilitate recovery process groups
- Chaperone students on field trips during school hours and weekend as needed
- Provide year-round phone support for enrolled students
- Must be able to observe urine screening.
- Must be able to transport youth in a company issued van.
- Other tasks as requested by Supervisor
Qualifications for position:
- Lived experience of addiction recovery, with a minimum of three years continuous abstinence if in personal recovery. High school Diploma required. Associate degree and NJ Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Preferred
EVENING AND WEEKEND AVAILABILITY: Must be available evenings and weekends
Skills, knowledge, personal qualities required: Must possess the skills, knowledge, and personal qualities required to fulfill the responsibilities listed above. Strong writing and computer skills required. Bi-lingual preferred.
