What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian- DCMH 702 position at Preventive Measures?
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required as other duties may be assigned.
- Perform routing cleaning tasks based on a schedule created by the facility management team.
- Wash and sanitize toilets and sink and restock disposables like soap, paper towels, air fresheners etc.
- Ensure break room sink, microwave, refrigerator, tables, chairs and all surfaces and utensils are always clean.
- Ensure workspaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
- Ensure that the entire premises are clean and free of any obstacles throughout entire work shift.
- Display caution signs and verbally caution staff and visitors while areas are always being cleaned to ensure safety.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
- Report major damages and oversee repair.
- Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving furniture etc.)
- The Custodian is responsible for keeping a running inventory of all cleaning supplies and submitting purchasing requests when supplies get low.
- Other duties as assigned.
