PRF Forestry Specialists is currently seeking a Vegetation Management Inspector. This is a great opportunity to work independently, outdoors while making a positive impact in local communities.

UVM Inspector Job Duties:
· Productivity and safety assessments, including quality assurance and control of suppliers performing vegetation management for a major utility company.
· Assist local Vegetation Management Program Managers with day-to-day operations in their area(s).
· Communicate with customers and address concerns as they relate to vegetation management practices and policies.
· Provide work planning and work scoping services, which may include but not be limited to ground patrol, reactive work, estimating projects, taking tree inventories, identifying hazard trees, evaluating contractor equipment needs, etc.
· Provide feedback to the utility vegetation management team, which may include but not limited to supplier performance, customer issues, program/project status, etc.
· Coordinate with customers/landowners to prescribe vegetation management activities needed for their properties.
· Notification of prescribed work to be performed on customer/landowner properties.
· Address issues that may arise from customer/landowner concerns (Includes negotiations with customers/landowners)
· Site visits with tree trimming vendors to ensure safety & industry standards are being adhered to.
· Identify vegetative threats to safe & reliable electric service and develop action plans to mitigate.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Forestry or Natural Resources preferred
- Experience in Forestry, Natural Resources, or Utility Vegetation Management is a plus.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a valid driver’s license
Skills and Abilities
- Strong computer and communication skills.
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Be able to effectively work with co-workers.
- Be responsible for all paperwork/receipts/mileage log/activity sheets throughout a work week & turn them in on time.
- Motivated to work diligently in outdoor conditions on a daily basis.
- Required to take company safety classes (both quarterly & monthly).
- Participate in on-the-job performance evaluations.

Hourly wages will be determined based on education and years of experience.
Increased wages will be negotiated if a candidate holds specialized licenses/certifications (e.g. ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Utility Specialist, NC Registered Forester, TRAQ, CTSP, etc.)
