What You’ll Do

As a Controller, you will be responsible for the financial health and operational efficiency of PRG Group, PRG Commercial, United Concrete, and Mountain States Civil. You will:

• Oversee all financial management – Manage accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting – Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, maintain quality control over financial transactions, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Develop and maintain budgets & forecasts – Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial projections, track variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor cash flow & financial strategy – Provide short- and long-term cash flow models, ensuring financial stability and effective capital management.
• Maintain internal controls & compliance – Safeguard company assets, maintain financial integrity, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead audit and tax coordination – Manage external auditors and tax advisors to ensure efficient regulatory reporting and compliance.
• Drive process improvements – Maintain, refine, and document business processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead and mentor the finance team – Manage accounting and administrative personnel, providing mentorship, training, and development opportunities.
• Implement new accounting software – Oversee the successful rollout of new financial systems within the first 12 months.
• Represent PRG’s values – Uphold our commitment to safety, quality, and honesty in every financial decision, ensuring that our reputation for excellence continues to grow.

You’ll Thrive In This Role If You:

✔ Have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA or CMA preferred).

✔ Possess 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in the construction industry.

✔ Have a deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

✔ Are highly proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

✔ Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

✔ Are an effective communicator, capable of explaining complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

✔ Demonstrate integrity, dependability, and a results-driven mindset.

✔ Excel at leading teams and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
