What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer position at PRI Technology?
I have a full time opportunity for a Systems Infrastructure Lead in Providence RI for one of our leading clients. This role will oversee the daily operations of the IT team to meet the end user needs and keep the Systems virtualization environment up to date.
This role is hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as team leader for the IT and Helpdesk staff to ensure the day-to-day operations of the company perform at agreed upon service levels.
- Communicates with decision makers and stakeholders to ensure understanding of deliverables and negotiate expectations
- Performs hands-on activities to assist the team with the daily upkeep and administration of the companies' data center computer systems
- Provide expertise and direction for Microsoft and VDI servers, data center and networking platforms
- Communicates project status, risks and other issues to assigned staff, management and other stakeholders and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Maintains high availability of all critical data center components
- serves as a trusted advisor to Senior Leadership on industry best practices
- Act as the day-to-day liaison to third party technology support vendors
Requirements:
- Strong experience and demonstrated skill managing complex IT infrastructure projects and vendors, and very strong skill in O365, Windows Server environments, and VMWare virtual server.
- 4-8 Years of Relevant Experience with various networking platforms
- Need to have project based experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and User Management
- Must have working Knowledge of Virtualization Technologies, including Virtual desktops, VDI
- Working Knowledge of Cisco Networking Technologies
- Need to have great written and verbal skill with the ability to look at project from a leadership perspective
- Experience with Azure or AWS is important
- Must be able to translate technology operational needs into business context. Any issues and risk must be communicated in a timely manner to Senior Management
- Certifications are a plus but not mandatory
