I have a full time opportunity for a very unique role that needs a candidate with CPA type skills, preferably VAT accounting experience, that can support the internal Workday ERP system. The candidate does not need to come out of investment banking although our client is one of the top 10 investment banks in Midtown Manhattan.
Another plus is that I don't necessarily need someone with Workday. Oracle, SAP, or another ERP system would be sufficient and the candidate could learn Workday as an ERP. The Accounting and Finance skills are most important!
This is a VP level role and previous investment banking experience is not necessary
- Knowledge of Workday is preferred but not mandatory, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc is acceptable
This is 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

The Lead will work with other IT and Finance team members, senior management within both the Information Technology and Finance departments, and end users.
Responsibilities :
Partner with our Finance and Accounting team to design and deliver technology-based solutions using Workday and potentially other independent application platformsLearn relevant Finance and Accounting business concepts in order to better leverage Workday functionality to help the team operate more efficientlyIdentify and suggest opportunities to enhance and improve current processesMaintain user security models and perform required control procedures including our annual privileged user recertification processManage data level access controls for existing functionality as well as provide analysis to accurately implement access for new functionalityProvide Business Process workflow support to application usersConfigure new Business Processes as our systems continue to evolve to support the needs of our growing firmSupport the reporting needs of our users by creating and deploying custom reports or working with vendors with whom we have engaged to provide deeper reporting capabilitiesAnalyze and manage semi-annual Workday feature releasesAid users in the resolution of functional or technical application issues that arise in their day to day workQualifications
Experienc in a previous life as an accountant or finance analyst would be beneficialSolid experience with ERP systems (e.g SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Workday), with a strong preference given to WorkdayOperational experience with Intercompany accounting conceptsUnderstanding of VAT accounting, reporting, and the resulting impact on Customer and Supplier invoicingSignificant experience with project billing and customer invoicingKnowledge of Workday (or other ERP) reporting frameworksUnderstanding of Workday (or other ERP) domain and business process security modelExperience in fast-paced, client service-driven environments (ideally consulting or financial services industries)Bachelor's Degree or equivalentLori Sklarski
