Senior HVAC Estimator
This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced Senior HVAC Estimator to join a premier HVAC and Construction firm based in Islip, Long Island.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in engineering principles, HVAC systems, and construction methodologies to assess project requirements, labor, materials, and overall budget effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing and project scope details.
Conduct site visits as needed to evaluate project conditions and potential challenges.
Utilize estimating software and industry tools to develop cost projections for materials, labor, and equipment.
Prepare and submit bid proposals, budgets, and cost breakdowns.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks in project execution.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards in Long Island, NY and New York City.
Assist in contract negotiations, procurement of materials, and subcontractor selection.
Stay updated on HVAC technologies, mechanical systems, and construction industry trends.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in HVAC Systems Mechanical Systems OR a related field preferred.
Three to five years of experience in HVAC estimating, with a focus on mechanical and HVAC systems.
Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, eSUB, ProEst, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, OR similar tools.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and mechanical components.
Ability to interpret blueprints, technical schematics, and project specifications.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Ability to manage multiple project estimates under tight deadlines.
