Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Hand to oversee daily operations in our warehouse. As a Lead Hand, you will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining safety standards while optimizing productivity.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accuracy in inventory management.
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices in warehouse operations and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment as needed.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for effective team management.
Skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job demands.
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse environment.
- Strong background in process improvement methodologies.
- Proven team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor is preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices is essential.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Forklift certification is a plus, along with experience in third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
