Receiving Warehouse Supervisor
Responsible for supervising warehouse and receiving employees; collaborating with manufacturing and quality to ensure customer products are ready on time and in full. Meets key performance indicators of material shortages, working capital, inventory accuracy and on time invoicing. Conducts inventory cycle counts weekly and determines root cause of any material discrepancies and offers solutions to prevent from reoccurring. Monitors warehouse cleanliness and provides safe work environment. Monitors issuing materials to production to ensure accuracy and timeliness in accordance with company standards and processes. This is an active position that is on the production floor with the team members. This position reports to the Material Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures all material receipts are made accurately and in timely manner. Matching BOL/Packing Lists with purchase orders
- Performs weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory and location accuracy. Maintains these records for audits.
- Supervises material issuing transactions to production floor by warehouse to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Determines work schedules, distributes work and explains procedures to their team
- Provides leadership in maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to company standards and processes
- Effectively communicates with their supervisor on potential improvements and/or solutions in their work area
- Collaborates with quality on any material quality concerns
- Submits and files any freight claims as needed in accordance with company standards/processes
- Documents employee performance and gives regular constructive feedback to employees
- Maintains warehouse and yard cleanliness.
- Solves practical problems; ability to "root cause" of a problem and determine corrective action.
- Ensures administrative documents are maintained in accordance with company policies.
- Reviews daily receiving logs to ensure all past due are reconciled with purchasing group
- Works closely with accounting and purchasing to ensure all past due invoices are handled in timely manner
- Communicates/collaborates with purchasing group to meet goals on mitigating and eliminating material shortages
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a warehouse manufacturing/distribution environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
- Paramount leadership and organization skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities are constantly changing
- Ability to lift 50 pounds plus and be active physically in the department’s operation
- Experience in operating various types of distribution equipment in a warehouse environment
- Familiarization with shipping documents and modes of transportation
- Math competence; at College level – Business Reporting
- Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint knowledge/experience required
- Must be able to communicate effectively with drivers, workers and upper management
- Ability to delegate effectively
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability and desire to foster excellent teamwork and interdepartmental cooperation
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, learning and successfully working in multicultural environments
