Position has total company responsibility for Price Rite Marketplace.
Headquarters is in Wethersfield, CT or Edison NJ.

This job will require travel throughout the company. Candidate should be located within a commutable distance of Price Rite store locations.

Position is in-person in store with a 1 day per week Work from Home policy.

JOB SUMMARY

The Employee Relations Manager (ERM) is a leadership role in the direction and supervision of all Employee Relations items. This role is critical in fostering a positive workplace environment by promoting effective communication between team members. The ERM supports stores with direct responsibility for facilitating, responding to and mitigating company exposure specific to HR compliance, hotline calls, Investigations, Legal Relations, SOPs, Compensation, background check practices, performance management, Leave of absence/ Reasonable Accommodation support and other various HR functions.

· Develop and implement employee relations strategies to enhance team member engagement and culture

· Lead, Investigate and Communicate internal complaints in partnership with HR Generalists, District Managers, Store Managers and Asset Protection (if applicable) to ensure thorough and timely investigation, response and resolution for all parties.

· Serve as the immediate contact for labor relations and provide periodic training to leaders regarding Labor Relations items

· Manage daily processes and reporting concerning compliance, Employee Relations, Legal, Team Member Engagement, and Wage Administration.

· Partner with Merchandising and Operations department to ensure team member communications are meaningful and relevant.

· Oversee off-boarding process, managing documentations/files, final pay, and record retention

· Partner with Risk Management on Workers Compensation matters and ensure compliance with relevant regulations

· Lead “Team Member Engagement” survey processes, follow ups, and action planning efforts.

· Create and conduct necessary training within relevant field.

· Manage the internal compliance reporting platform and all applicable reporting.

· Provide team members information on counseling, benefits and other company programs available to them.

· Provide coaching to team members and leaders. Facilitate a strong leadership and coaching culture.

· Assist with recruitment and hiring processes

· In conjunction with Executive Team, Human Resources Director and Corporate Counsel, review, update, and administer all Human Resources policies and procedures.

· Consult with internal/external legal counsel to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations to include EEOC, Wage and Hour, OSHA/ Safety compliance and workplace management practices

· Support development of HR Field Staff development in the investigation arena through visits to all company facilities

· Ability to handle multiple projects at once

· Other duties as assigned

TEAM LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Has indirect supervisory responsibilities to field HR Staff in the matters of workplace investigations and matters, wage administration, employee coaching/counseling, compliance, team member engagement, performance management, off-boarding, and legal processes / proceedings.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university required. Human Resources certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years related Human Resource experience including employee relations, labor relations and compliance; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong working knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices and procedures, labor law, team member relations, FMLA and Workers Compensation regulations, performance management, wage administration, and compliance. Working knowledge of retail operations preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, regulatory agencies, customers, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

HR FUNCTIONAL SKILL

Must have strong working knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices and procedures, labor law, team member relations, FMLA and Workers Compensation regulations, performance management, wage administration, and compliance.

BUSINESS ACUMEN

Understand the business environment and use insights about the business to improve HR strategy, activities, and delivery.

DATA & ANALYTICS SKILLS

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to collect and analyze appropriate data, recognize trends, and develop recommendations based on data analysis.

Pay: $97,982.00 - $127,698.00 per year
