Whats unique about this job (What you’ll do)
The UX Designer is responsible for creating intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly experiences for web and mobile applications. This role requires strong design execution, user research capabilities, and collaboration across teams to ensure an optimized user experience that aligns with business goals and customer needs.
Responsibilities
Design Execution:
- Develop and implement intuitive, user-centered designs, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
- Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure accurate design implementation.
- Maintain and enhance PriceSmart’s design system to drive consistency across all platforms.
User Research:
- Conduct bilingual user research (Spanish and English) to uncover pain points, behaviors, and opportunities for UX improvement.
- Plan and execute usability testing, A/B tests, and competitive analysis to validate design decisions.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work alongside product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to align UX strategies with business objectives.
- Present design concepts and research insights effectively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Advocate for user needs and UX best practices across the organization.
Problem-Solving and Design Thinking:
- Analyze complex user journeys and propose data-driven design solutions to improve conversion rates, reduce friction, and enhance user satisfaction.
- Balance user needs with business goals to prioritize design initiatives effectively.
- Identify and proactively address UX challenges throughout the customer journey.
Localization & Accessibility Expertise:
- Ensure designs are culturally relevant and accessible for Spanish-speaking markets while maintaining usability for English-speaking users.
- Adapt content, layouts, and workflows to align with regional preferences and expectations.
- Implement accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) to ensure inclusivity for all users.

Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field. Equivalent UX experience may be considered.
- 4–8 years of experience in UX design, with a portfolio showcasing impactful, user-centered designs.
- Experience in e-commerce or membership-based retail platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of design-to-code workflows and preparing handoffs for development teams.
Skills:
- Design Tools: Expert in Figma, with experience using Storybook, Anima, or Locofy for design handoffs.
- Prototyping: Ability to create interactive prototypes that effectively communicate design intent.
- User Research & Testing: Strong experience conducting bilingual user research (Spanish & English), usability testing, and synthesizing findings into actionable insights.
- Data Analytics: Familiarity with Hotjar, LogRocket, FullStory, Google Analytics, or equivalent.
- Design Systems & Micro-interactions: Experience building scalable design systems, reusable component libraries, and integrating micro-interactions to enhance user experience.
- Accessibility & Compliance: Knowledge of WCAG standards and best practices for inclusive design.
- Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English (required).

- Valid passport and U.S. visa for potential business travel.
