What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Helper position at Pride Delivery and Installation?
Position is scheduled 3 days per week.
Position Summary: The Helper assists the driver in the delivery and installation of appliance(s), while assisting customer and other employees with the process. Helps to solve problems that relate to the job and the department. Carries out and assumes an active role in the company by performing the responsibilities and duties for the position under the direction of the Driver and local area management.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in the preparation and installation of all appliances.
- Assists Customers with delivery process.
- Loads and unloads appliances from company truck.
- Carries appliances into customer homes.
- Assists in the maintenance of deliveries scheduled.
- Assists in making mandatory calls to customers and dispatchers.
- Works in warehouses as backup as needed.
- Assists driver in “backing” situations.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Competencies:
- Must have good communication skills with the ability to communicate with consumers, managers, and employees on all levels.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and be aware of things need to be done.
- Must be able to advise and listen to customer complaints and problems.
- Must be able to solve problems that arise with customers.
- Must have the ability to perform all tasks listed in the job description; which includes lifting and moving objects up to 150 pounds.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- This job operates within a warehouse environment as well as riding as a passenger on a 24’ box truck and work within customer home.
- This role routinely uses standard lifting equipment and straps. Uses and maneuvers hand trucks.
- Helpers must be able to lift/maneuver at 150 pounds with dolly, on and off trucks, and upstairs frequently.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and read.
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms forward and overhead.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, climb stairs, stand, sit, reach.
