Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker or Public Health professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work and/or public health and a passion for helping individuals navigate challenges related to sexual health, HIV/STI, and engagement in preventative services. This role requires effective communication skills, dynamic leadership abilities, and a commitment to improving the well-being of those we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision and staff development of direct HIV/STI testing staff. This includes recruitment, providing weekly supervision, professional development, ongoing feedback and skill assessment, and maintaining employee records.
  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of Social Networking Strategy with a focus on engaging YTGPOC in the testing engagement intervention ages 13-34. This includes recruitment of Recruiters, Recruiter training/support, tracking and disseminating client incentives, and program marketing/promotion.
  • Coordinate with the NYS and NYC Department of Health on regional Partner Services inquiries and linkage to care assistance.
  • Act as agency liaison between testing program and case management program with the goal of ensuring all quality assurance measures are met and the client’s linkage to case management is successful.
  • Develop, execute, and track community-based outreach plans for testing funding grants.
  • Responsible for training staff on POCT processes, testing technologies, and integrated HIV-status neutral model of HIV/STI testing services.
  • Provide clinical backup to prevention-based program activities on Thursday nights.
  • Work closely with the PFY Director and data team on CQI/QA/QI initiatives around POCT services.
  • Manage agency’s POCT program inventory which includes tracking inventory, placing order requests, running controls, and logging items received.
  • Responsible for oversight of agency’s POCT QA and Master Test Log books.
  • Responsible for composing monthly reporting and statistics for all POCT activities across funded contracts.
  • Maintain all required electronic and written records of testing, community advisory board meetings/activities, linkages and outreach activities, in addition to maintaining monthly statistics of clients served.
  • Additional activities as assigned by the PFY Director

Experience

  • Master’s degree in related field preferred: Social Work, Public Health, Mental Health
  • Bachelor’s degree considered with proven demonstration and knowledge of sexual health prevention work, program management, with supervisory experience (2 years minimum).
  • Professional or lived experience working with or being a trans person of color preferred. Strong knowledge of HIV prevention, PEP/PrEP, U=U, sexual health education, and the transgender community preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a MUST
  • Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have strong organizational skills, exhibit a high level of trustworthiness, and have strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Work schedule requires both evening and weekend availability. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Travel throughout Nassau, Queens and Suffolk Counties is required – must have own transportation (car and driver’s license) or other available means to travel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
