Position – Accountant
Location – Hartford, CT 06102
Length of assignment – 3 months with possible extension.
Pay range – $30.00/hr. - $33.00/hr.
Shift – Monday - Friday – 8 AM to 5.00 PM
Job Duties
Financial Operations:
- Manage and process accounts payable (AP) transactions, including vendor payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee travel and expense (TE) reimbursement processes, maintaining compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Support general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial closing activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
ERP System Management:
- Utilize ERP systems, with a focus on PeopleSoft Financial Modules (AP and TE), to execute financial operations efficiently.
- Act as a subject matter expert in PeopleSoft, assisting with system enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and training staff as needed.
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve system-related issues and optimize ERP functionalities for financial processes.
Master Data Management:
- Maintain and update master data records related to vendors, expense accounts, and other financial data elements within ERP systems.
- Ensure data integrity by performing regular audits and validations of financial master data.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with administrative staff and external organizations to address financial inquiries and maintain strong working relationships.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of staff to facilitate the resolution of financial and accounting issues.
- Provide clear and concise documentation for financial processes, policies, and system updates.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and financial policies related to accounts payable and travel expenses.
- Prepare financial reports and analyses to support organizational decision-making and audit readiness.
- Monitor adherence to corporate financial controls and standards, identifying and addressing discrepancies promptly.
Healthcare Sector Expertise:
- Apply knowledge of healthcare-specific accounting practices to manage financial operations effectively.
- Address unique challenges related to healthcare finance, such as regulatory compliance and cost containment strategies.

Qualification -
- Associate s degree in accounting
- 3-5 years of ERP system application experience
- The equivalent of 7 years professional work experience in a Finance/Accounting department
- PeopleSoft and Healthcare experience
- Experience either as a user or a support role in the PeopleSoft Financial Modules: AP [Accounts Payable] and TE [Travel & Expense]
- Communicate well with administrative staff, external organizations and with other staff at all levels; and interact with IT resources when technology roles and capabilities are required to facilitate any and all aspects of master data
