What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ambulatory Service Representative position at Pride Health?
Pride Health is hiring a Ambulatory Service Representative to support our client’s medical facility based in Houston, TX. This local opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Responsibilities:
- Performs patient registration procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are provided and completed for the clinic visit.
- Communicates with patients, staff, and providers regarding patient arrivals, delays, and clinic processes.
- Verifies insurance benefits and identifies the correct plan codes that drive reimbursement (e.g., capitated allowance vs. per diem or discount of charges).
- Enters batches and reconciles TCH charges on a daily basis.
- Schedules new and follow-up appointments, confirming patient demographics and insurance information, and schedules ancillary appointments and diagnostic tests per provider orders/requisitions.
- Ensures interpreter services are available for patients as needed.
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding appointment status, wait times, or unanticipated issues while maintaining cultural sensitivity.
- Performs other office duties, including ordering and maintaining clinic supplies, managing office equipment, handling correspondence, and performing copying, faxing, mailing, and filing tasks.
- Assists with the efficient patient throughput in exam rooms to optimize workflow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma with two (2) years of experience providing excellent customer service.

Schedule: 5x8 (Regular work days) – Days – 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $20/ hour
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
