Pride Health is hiring an Athletic Trainer to join the Sports Medicine team. This 26 Weeks Contract in Columbus, IN 47201.
Job Description:
The Athletic Trainer will primarily function off-site at school athletic facilities and events, providing injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes. The role involves collaborating with physicians, coaches, therapists, and school staff to ensure athlete safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs in collaboration with coaches, physicians, and therapists.
- Provide on-field injury assessment and immediate care for athletes.
- Apply preventive taping, bracing, and other protective measures.
- Communicate with coaches, athletes, and families regarding injury status and recovery plans.
- Coordinate rehabilitation and reconditioning programs for injured athletes.
- Attend games, practice sessions, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain and document athlete treatment records and referral tracking logs.
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies in treating athletes.
- Assist with selection and management of medical supplies and equipment.
- Participate in strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives for the Sports Medicine program.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program (required).
- Indiana State Licensure as an Athletic Trainer (required).
- NATA Certification (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
Experience & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Experience with musculoskeletal conditions and emergency medical response.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and medical professionals.
- Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
- Ability to manage and maintain athletic training equipment and supplies.
- Strong organizational skills to plan and execute duties effectively.

- Schedule: Day / 40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 26 Weeks
- Pay Rate: $70/hour - $77/hour
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
