Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist (Full-Time, Days)
Location: Laredo, TX
Pay Range: $114,400 - $158,080
Sign-on and relocation bonuses for eligible applicants.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (Coverage Required Every 3rd Weekend)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our healthcare team at a 326-bed acute care hospital and Level 3 trauma center. The Clinical Pharmacist will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medications for patients. This position involves working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide expert pharmaceutical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret physician orders to ensure safe and appropriate medication therapy.
- Provide clinical support and pharmaceutical guidance to healthcare teams.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust medications as needed.
- Educate patients and healthcare professionals on medication therapies and proper usage.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practices in pharmaceutical care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication records.
- Provide coverage and support as needed, including every 3rd weekend.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
- At least one (1) year of hospital clinical pharmacy experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas.
- A.C.P.E.-accredited IV Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a PGY-1 residency in an acute care setting.
- Completion of an accredited PGY1/PGY2 hospital pharmacy residency.
- Board certifications such as BCOP (Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist) or BCPS (Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist).
