Position Requirements
📘 Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field
- Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program
- ASCP Cytotechnology certification
🧪 Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years as a Cytotechnologist in a pathology-directed lab
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a lab
- Proven competency in evaluating Gyn and non-Gyn specimens (thyroid, pancreas, lymph node FNAs)
- Documented annual PAP PT passing

- Leadership and supervisory capabilities
- Expert specimen assessment and re-prepping skills
- Knowledge of quality control and improvement measures
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and high-quality cytology testing and result reporting
- Perform microscopic evaluations of Gyn and non-Gyn cytology specimens, including liquid-based Paps and FNA aspirations
- Provide quality-focused evaluations with emphasis on non-gynecological specimens
- Collaborate with Cytopathologists to review challenging cases
- Maintain lab equipment and reagents; write and review processing procedures
- Monitor and improve departmental quality using audits and statistics
- Assist with staff education and process improvements
Additional Information
🚀 Lab Expansion: Plans are underway for a larger Pathology/Cytology lab with private offices for Cytologists and improved proximity to specimen processing areas.
