Pride Health is currently seeking candidates for a Cyto Technologist position that will provide support to our client's healthcare systems in Tyler, TX. This is a contract assignment with a high likelihood of extension and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Description:
Job Title: Cyto Technologist
Location: Tyler, TX
Schedule: 5x8 hrs (40 hrs / week)
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Pay Range: $2220 – $2380 weekly gross DOE
Overview:
We are looking to employ a skilled Cyto Technologist to examine cell samples under a microscope to detect abnormalities, infections, and diseases, including cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies abnormal cellular patterns using a microscope and marks unusual findings for further review.
- Processes and stains cytology specimens using ThinPrep and manual staining techniques for accurate microscopic evaluation.
- Enters patient information, operates lab equipment, and ensures quality control following CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Supports pathologists with fine needle aspirations and refers significant findings for further evaluation.
- Adheres to accreditation standards (CAP, CLIA, OSHA, etc.), performs QC analysis, and maintains laboratory documentation.
- Conducts preventive maintenance, troubleshoots issues, and manages lab supplies and reagents.
- Engages in continuing education, trains new staff, and completes assigned projects within deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience
- Must have at least 2 years of experience and be proficient in non-GYN along with normal GYN screening
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent
- Certification: ASCP, BLS
