Pride Health is seeking a EMT to join a team in Charlotte, NC . This is a 13-weeks assignment, with possible extension.
JOB OVERVIEW
As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will play a crucial role in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. You will be responsible for assessing patients' conditions, administering appropriate treatments, and transporting them safely to medical facilities. Your ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions will be essential in delivering high-quality patient care.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess patients' conditions through physical examinations and vital sign monitoring.
- Administer injections and medications as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage and technique.
- Provide patient care during transport, including monitoring vital signs and managing medical equipment.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Assist in critical care transport for patients requiring advanced medical attention.
- Collaborate with other emergency response team members to ensure efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatments administered, and any changes in condition.
- Adhere to protocols for venipuncture and other invasive procedures as necessary.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, demonstrating a calm demeanor and effective decision-making skills.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification: Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) provider.
- Licensure: Must possess one of the following:
- Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Certification from the Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
- Six months of job experience within the last year in the Military as a Combat Medic (U.S. Army), Field Medic (U.S. Army), Healthcare Specialist (U.S. Army), Hospital Corpsman (U.S. Navy), or Aerospace Medical Service Technician (U.S. Air Force). OR Current active Athletic Trainer Certification by either the Board of Certification (BOC) or an equivalent state certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified to teach First Aid, CPR, and AED training through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with an industrial wellness program.
- Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on body mechanics.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation.
- Proficiency in digital record-keeping.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and critical care transport protocols.
- Ability to perform physical examinations and assess patient needs effectively.
- Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical stamina required for the demands of emergency medical services.
