Float Phlebotomist

Pride Health is hiring a Float Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Oklahoma City, OK 73141. This is a 3 months assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Name: Float Phlebotomist

Location : Oklahoma City OK 73141/ 7600 North West 23rd Street Bethany, OK

Duration : 3 months Contract/ Likely to convert to FT based on performance

Shift : 7 days a week, 6AM-11AM, weekends usually done by 9:00 AM

Payrate : $20.12/hr. on W2/ *Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Note: Need to float between Oklahoma City OK 73141 and Bethany, OK. Mileage reimbursement of 0.70 per mile will be provided.

Job Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.
• Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
• Previous experience in a production environment preferred.
