What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Preventionist position at Pride Health?
Pride Health is currently hiring an Infection Preventionist for our client in Colorado Springs, CO! This is an 8 week contracted position with opportunities for extensions. Floating may be required for any facility within the system within 60 miles.
Shift: M- F Day shift
Pay: $3,503.20 Weekly ($1,960 taxable income, $941.20 housing untaxed, $602 meals untaxed)
Contract: 8 weeks 4/21-06/14
Duties:
- Develops, implements, and evaluates the Infection Prevention program, setting goals and overseeing infection control initiatives to prevent healthcare- and community-acquired infections.
- Updates policies, leads the Infection Control Committee, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CDC, OSHA). Conducts risk assessments for infection transmission, monitors significant issues, and supports staff and patient safety.
- Manages the entity-wide infection surveillance program, including outpatient facilities, and oversees disinfection, sterilization, and cleaning processes. Utilizes epidemiological methods to track infections, prepares reports, and remains current with guidelines from agencies like the CDC and CDPHE.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or experience- Required.
- Degree in Nursing or another clinical-related field- Preferred
- MSN, MPH, or other related master’s degree- Preferred
- CIC – Required.
- Five (5) years of clinical or related experience.
- Three (3) years of infection prevention and control preferred.
- Two (2) years of previous leadership or project management experience, preferred.
- Experience in clinical operations and/or experience working in performance improvement or quality management areas, preferred.
