Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interventional Radiologic Technologist (IRT) or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) with NJ radiographic licensure to assist proceduralists in complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of fluoroscopic modality machines, demonstrate strong critical thinking abilities during complex procedures, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and sterile technique.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist proceduralists during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases, scrubbing side by side with the specialty team.
- Operate and maintain floor- and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopic modality machines with proficiency.
- Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex interventional products during procedural cases.
- Apply critical thinking skills to support proceduralists during neuro-interventional and other complex procedures.
- Operate power injection devices for iodinated contrast media administration in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Utilize closed-loop communication for effective coordination with the healthcare team.
- Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention measures while preparing procedural trays.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and manage imaging transfers to Sectra/PACS systems.
- Provide post-intervention groin management as needed.
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and Associate Degree or completion of an accredited radiographic program.
- Licensure & Certifications:
- NJ Radiographic Licensure (mandatory).
- Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an AHS-credentialed American Heart Association (AHA) program or an equivalent BLS certification with skill demonstration in basic life support measures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist with NJ radiographic licensure.
- Experience working in a high-volume, multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
