Job Overview:
A critical access hospital in Douglas, WY, is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join their team. This is a temporary-to-permanent position ideal for a dedicated nursing professional with strong clinical skills, particularly in the areas of maternity and newborn care. The successful candidate will possess the ability to provide high-quality care to mothers and infants during the labor and delivery process while also being adaptable to float to Medical/Surgical (M/S) units as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, recognizing and responding to any complications.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for mothers and newborns.
- Educate families about childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Float to M/S unit as required, ensuring continuity of care for patients across departments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation according to facility protocols.
- Uphold all safety and quality standards as mandated by the hospital and nursing governing bodies.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid nursing license in the state of Wyoming.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent L&D nursing experience, with a strong focus on mother/baby care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Current Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification.
- Preferred certifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and STABLE (may be completed within the first 3 months on contract).
- Ability to float to Medical/Surgical (M/S) units as needed.
