Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Record Specialist / HIM to support our client’s medical facility based in Fort Wayne, IN. This opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Key Responsibilities :

Document Preparation : Sort, remove staples, smooth pages, and organize documents before scanning.
Indexing : Accurately assign documents to the correct patient record and category in the EMR system.
Scanning : Digitize records while ensuring clarity and legibility. Maintain scanning equipment.
Quality Review : Conduct or participate in audits to ensure accuracy in document processing.
Storage & Maintenance : Manage physical documents for 30 days post-scanning, conduct routine equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot before requesting service.
Other Duties : Retrieve records from nursing units, copy poor-quality documents, complete daily productivity logs, and perform document shredding as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience : Minimum 1 year in a hospital medical records department, health information management (HIM), or medical office preferred.

Technical Skills : Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, OnBase Unity, and Epic .

Typing Speed : At least 25 words per minute (WPM) .

Physical Requirements : Ability to lift or push up to 30 lbs .

Attention to Detail : Strong accuracy and organizational skills.

Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
