Job Overview

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Technician- Infection Control to support our client’s medical facility in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. This is a CONTRACT opportunity of 3 months and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Summary:

The Med Tech – Infection Preventionist plays a key role in preventing and controlling infections within the healthcare facility. Working under the supervision of the Director of Quality Management, this role involves developing and implementing infection control policies, conducting surveillance, and analyzing infection data. The Infection Preventionist collaborates with both clinical and non-clinical teams to promote compliance and ensure adherence to best practices. This position supports performance improvement activities and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Effective communication with staff, patients, and visitors across all age groups is essential, with sensitivity to diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. The role requires dedication to the organization’s Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct.

Key Responsibilities and skills:

• Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
• Conduct ongoing surveillance, data analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
• Monitor and evaluate compliance with infection control practices through regular rounds and audits.
• Collaborate with department managers and staff to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Educate staff on infection prevention protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support departmental compliance efforts.
• Maintain thorough documentation and reports in accordance with internal and external regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and cultural sensitivity in interactions with patients, families, and team members.

Qualifications:

• Minimum education- Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Sciences
• BSMT- ASCP -Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), required
• CIC- Certification in Infection Control . required
• Previous experience in the area of infection surveillance, prevention, and control is preferred
• Broad knowledge base and/or job experience in areas related to the application of epidemiological principles and infectious disease, concepts of sterilization, disinfection, sanitation, and adult education principles and practices related to patient care.

• Location: Hattiesburg, Mississippi
• Job Type: 3 months contract
• Shifts: 8 HOURS Day Shift
• Hourly Pay: $75- $80/HR (TRAVEL RATES)
