Pride Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team at a healthcare facility in Amsterdam, NY 12010. In this role, you will perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures across multiple disciplines, ensuring accurate diagnostic testing and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Testing:
- Perform routine and STAT laboratory tests in areas such as General, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, and Micro Setup/STAT testing.
- Quality & Safety:
- Ensure accurate patient identification, specimen processing, and data entry in compliance with laboratory protocols.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as necessary.
- Operational Support:
- Assist with quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize workflow and support patient care.
- Administrative Duties:
- Complete required documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Follow facility policies and regulatory guidelines throughout all procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Licensure & Certification:
- New York State Medical Technologist license (or equivalent) required.
- Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (e.g., ASCP or CLS) is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of hospital laboratory experience.
- Proficiency across multiple lab disciplines, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, and Micro Setup/STAT testing.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Information:
- Location: Amsterdam, NY 12010
- Schedule: 08:00 AM-04:30 PM with rotating weekends
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Pay Rate: $60 - $64/hour
