Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in an acute adult oncology inpatient setting, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma. The ideal candidate will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires strong clinical judgment, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify care needs and priorities.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized nursing care plans based on medical diagnoses and patient conditions.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions under established protocols and best practices.
- Monitor and manage patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure optimal recovery and well-being.
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and support the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation per standards of care, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute adult oncology, specifically in leukemia & lymphoma inpatient care.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Certifications & Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA (Required)
- New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License or Multi-State Compact License (Required)
Preferred Certifications
- Telemetry Certification
- Chemotherapy Certification (ONS)
