Pharmacist Inpatient
Location:Chesapeake, VA 23320
Job Type: Contract | Days | Mon-Fri | 5X8
Contract Length: 13 Weeks with possible extension
Pay Range: $2900 - $3086 Gross Weekly
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and enter medication orders, ensuring safety and appropriateness of treatments.
- Monitor for potential drug interactions and provide recommendations to the healthcare team.
- Manage the preparation and administration of intravenous (IV) medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotics.
- Consult with physicians and nurses regarding the use of chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing.
- Provide drug information to healthcare providers and offer evidence-based recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the EPIC system.
Requirements
- 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience required.
- Experience in IV medication administration, pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotics, and drug interactions.
- Proficiency in EPIC charting
- VA Pharmacist License
