Title: Retail Pharmacist
Location: Mauston, WI
Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract
Shifts: Monday–Friday (8am–6pm or 9am–7pm) every 3rd Saturday (8am–1pm)
Job Summary:
The Retail Pharmacist will play a key role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient procurement, preparation, and dispensing of medications. This position is ideal for licensed pharmacists with strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent patient service in a retail setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications in a retail pharmacy setting
- Assist in the management of home health aid medications
- Process and input prescriptions; correct prescription errors as needed
- Provide patient counseling and education on medication usage and potential side effects
- Administer vaccinations
- Compound medications when required
- Conduct therapeutic drug monitoring and pharmacokinetic dosing consultations
- Participate in quality assurance and compliance activities, including Medicare Accreditation protocols
- Manage inventory: order, receive, and maintain stock of pharmaceuticals
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients
- Support various clinical services and other pharmacy-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Education: Professional Pharmacy Degree required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
- License: Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License required, or temporary Wisconsin Pharmacist License (must obtain full license within 60 days).
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Experience: At least 1 year of related pharmacy experience.
