Position Overview:
Pride Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Inpatient Pharmacist to join our healthcare team in Wenatchee, Washington. This is a 40-hour per week, 13-week contract position offering guaranteed hours. The Inpatient Pharmacist will assist in the delivery of pharmaceutical care within the inpatient setting, ensuring safe and effective medication therapy management. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in inpatient pharmacy, including experience in medication dispensing, drug therapy management, and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and dispense medications as prescribed by healthcare providers in the inpatient setting.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide optimal drug therapy management for hospitalized patients.
- Ensure accurate medication records and monitor for drug interactions, contraindications, and allergies.
- Provide patient education regarding medication use, side effects, and safety precautions.
- Participate in clinical rounds, providing expertise on medication therapy and dosing.
- Assist with the preparation and compounding of medications when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for medication dispensing and drug therapy monitoring.
- Report and document medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and other incidents in accordance with hospital protocols.
Qualifications:
- Licensing: Must hold a valid Washington State Pharmacist License.
- Experience: Previous experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting required.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication safety.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Other Requirements: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
