Phlebotomist

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Roanoke VA 24014. This is a 6-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Title: Phlebotomist

Location: Roanoke VA 24014

Duration: 4 Months

Pay rate: $17.75-$19.74 per hour

State of Credentials Licenses Required: VA preferred, but not required

Shift/Time Zone: We have more openings on nights 10pm-630am, day shift would come in next at 6am-230pm. - list shift preference on resume

Works alternating weekends on pre-posted schedule

Works alternating holidays on pre-posted schedule

10% differential for 2nd shift

15% differential for 3rd shift

25% differential for weekends

NO holiday pay other than normal for day/shift

*Pay rate is based on years of experience and educational qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Draw blood samples skillfully and safely, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established practices.

Provide coverage across multiple locations, adapting to various roles as needed.

Act as a mentor and resource for new employees, offering effective onboarding services.

Collaborate with staff on-site and provide regular input to group leads or supervisors.

Engage with customers, particularly in complex or high-volume practices, demonstrating exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 3 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment they were preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or service setting is preferred.

Keyboard/data entry skills.
