Role: Phlebotomist
Location: Portland, OR, 97210
Shift Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Shift Type: 8-hour days
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Highlights: $17- $22/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures using straight and butterfly needles.
- Collect, label, centrifuge, and prepare blood, urine, and fecal specimens.
- Ensure 100% accuracy in matching requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Properly store specimens at the required temperature for integrity.
- Provide clear and professional explanations of procedures to patients.
- Package and transport specimens per protocol.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual training.
- Answer phone inquiries and review laboratory results with patients.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certifications:
- Phlebotomy Certification (Valid in Oregon)
- Experience:
- Required: Minimum 6 months – 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
- Preferred: 3-4 years experience due to the complexity of transplant patients.
- Specialties: Experience working with transplant patients is a must.
Note: Local candidates within 30 miles are eligible.
