Job Title: Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist
Shift: Day shift (08:00 - 17:00), Monday to Friday (5x8-Hour)
Location: Greensboro, NC 27403
Contract Duration: 16 weeks with possible ext.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist for a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. This position involves working in an inpatient oncology setting, primarily in radiation therapy. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in External Beam Radiation Therapy (Teletherapy), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), and Radiation Safety precautions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in Radiation Oncology, including External Beam Radiation Therapy and IMRT
- Perform radiation safety checks and quality assurance on equipment
- Collaborate with the oncology team to plan and deliver effective radiation treatments
- Utilize Eclipse Treatment Planning System for treatment planning
- Assist with Brachytherapy procedures (HDR/LDR)
- Work with the following equipment: Varian TrueBeam, Philips BigBore, Eclipse TPS, GammaMed HDR, Variseed LDR prostate
- Documentation in Aria / Epic / Varian Eclipse systems
- Float to any Cone Health campus as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Certification in ABR - Therapeutic Medical Physics
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient oncology experience, specifically in Radiation Oncology
- Familiarity with Teletherapy, IMRT, and radiation safety precautions
- Epic experience required
- Education verification through a third party (specific schools excluded)
- Full compliance file submitted by 12:00 PM EST the Wednesday prior to the start date
Preferences:
- Experience with Eclipse Treatment Planning System
- Experience with Brachytherapy (HDR/LDR)
