Position Overview :
Pride Health is seeking a skilled and certified Surgical Technologist to join our healthcare team in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a 40-hour per week, 13-week contract position with guaranteed hours. This is a great opportunity for surgical technologists with acute care experience to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic surgical environment.
The Surgical Technologist will play a key role in assisting surgeons and the surgical team during ophthalmology and ENT surgeries. This role is perfect for experienced professionals who are looking to provide high-quality patient care and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments for ophthalmology and ENT procedures.
- Assist surgeons and surgical team members by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Ensure all equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and functioning.
- Monitor and maintain the surgical environment, ensuring patient safety and sterile techniques are adhered to.
- Prepare and manage patient care documentation and assist with patient positioning and draping.
- Maintain and manage surgical supplies and equipment inventory.
- Provide assistance in other areas of the OR as needed, including floating to other campuses.
- Follow all safety and infection control procedures during surgeries.
- Adhere to hospital and regulatory policies, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and standards of care.
Qualifications :
Must have NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification (no substitutes accepted).
At least 2 years of acute care experience, with a preference for candidates with ophthalmology and ENT surgery experience.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
