What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at PRIDE Healthcare?
As a DSP, you will ensure the safety and well-being of the developmentally disabled population by providing consistent and quality comfort, care, training, and support. Shifts are available morning, afternoon, and overnight in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.
Job Description:
- Provide habilitation services to each client as prescribed in that client’s service plans (CFA, Individual Service plan, Habilitation plan)
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as preparing food, personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing, diapers, etc.), laundry, and cleaning
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe living environment
- Willingness to support people’s preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, exercise of their rights, etc. in various settings
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalency minimum requirement.
- 1 year recent experience as a DSP, HHA, or other one-on-one direct care experience required.
- BLS CPR certificate issued by the American Heart Association required.
- SCIP Certification preferred.
- Ability to stay awake and alert for entire shift, lifting objects/standing for long periods of time, some computer data entry.
Pay Rate: $17.50/hour
SCIP Certified: $18.00/hour
