Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist Floater to support our client’s medical facility based in Hartford CT 06105. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Location: Hartford CT 06105
Job Type: 02 Months - W2 contract - with possible extension
Schedule – Day shift- 8hrs per day
05:30 am-05:30 pm Hours varied. Monday- Friday
Pay Range: $19-$21 (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)
Responsibilities:
- Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
- Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
- Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
- Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Package specimens for transport.
- Stores specimen samples according to the required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen.
Qualifications /Work Experience:
- Minimum of 05 years’ experience, with over a year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
