What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Specialist position at Pride in North Carolina, LLC?

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for assisting the QAQI Training Director in the development and oversight of the PRIDE IN NORTH CAROLINA, LLC. quality improvement plan and annual report, staff training, and client rights assurance. They provide administrative support and coordination of Quality Assurance activities within the parameters established by the QAQI Training Director. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination and support of Quality Assurance activities and initiatives throughout the organization, facilitation of the integration of clinical review activities, coordination and support of committee meetings, preparation of reports, data collection and analysis and maintenance of client and staff records.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is a full-time salaried position and must meet the qualifications of a Qualified Professional and have knowledge in State and Federal mental health regulations and CARF standards. This position requires excellent organization, writing and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helps coordinate quality improvement activities including the development and tracking of consumer outcomes, review of adverse events, and overall agency performance/quality of care.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of a systematic process for conducting consumer and employee satisfaction surveys. Compiles information from satisfaction surveys into usable format to institute change.
  • Assists in the coordination and planning of a process for achieving and maintaining national accreditation.
  • Assists with administering program policies and procedures to ensure staff credentialing and supervision are consistently carried out, services are effectively monitored, and best practice guidelines are adhered to.
  • Stays abreast of North Carolina requirements and expectations related to the tracking of consumer outcomes. Reviews available outcomes data and compiles required reports.
  • Stays abreast of new services and requirements. Provides assistance to regions in instituting new services.
  • Assists in the monitoring the results of state and MCO program reviews and audits to determine any needed areas of improvement or systemic changes.
  • Stays abreast of all rules and requirements pertaining to consumer rights and monitors related policies and forms as needed for revisions.
  • Schedules and coordinates quality record reviews. Compiles and distributes results and institutes measures for addressing any problem areas.
  • Assists in preparation for State, Federal, and Accreditation audits and site visits, as well as prepares reports in responses to audits, and plans of correction.
  • Ensures that persons served are aware of and follow grievance and appeal process. Reviews and addresses consumer grievances as appropriate. Maintains documentation of grievances.
  • Reviews Critical Incidents and other adverse events to ensure and promote consumer safety. Provides suggestions for improvement.
  • Assists in conducting and maintaining and Pride in North Carolina committees. Ensures committees meets all requirements and regulations. Maintains all required documentation.
