This position is responsible to train and teach individuals served a variety of skills. This position also is required to assist individuals to perform tasks, to record data, and to assess that the well-being and autonomy of each individual served meets the specific goals of the individual. The position is responsible to ensure that the individuals served are attending activities/tasks according to their specific abilities, tasks, and preferences.
SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:
In keeping with the values and philosophy of Pride, the person filling this position may occasionally be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the specific duties listed on their Position Description.
- The primary responsibility is to promote the growth, well-being and autonomy of the individuals served.
- Demonstrate, assist, and teach individuals served skills in life and day programming training, according to the recommendations by the Plan for the Future team.
- Responsible for conducting monthly progress reports and annual assessments concerning the individuals participation in training activities.
- Participate in the development of the Plan for the Future.
- Provide systematic training skills to assist individuals served to successfully perform identified task and training activities.
- Responsible to review, document, and/or communicate all significant information on individual progress to required data, reports, and/or persons.
- Follow procedures and standards to assure quality control of all work completed.
- Attend agency staff meetings, participate in agency sponsored in service training, and independently enhance personal/professional development by reading attending job related workshops and classes.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High school diploma preferred.
- DD certification preferred.
- ND Drivers License and a clean driving record. The person must provide proof of insurance.
EXPERIENCE
- One year of experience working in a human service field preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Must have an interest/desire to work with people with disabilities.
